TikTok’s algorithm is mainly built for users to see videos they’ll like rather than follow. If you post a video, the video will automatically be seen by people that are interested in your brand without having to choose the target audience or paying! It’s basically free quality exposure for your business.
Where is TikTok heading?
Just like we’ve said, TikTok gives you the ability to post videos, reach people that are interested in your business that don’t follow you, all without paying a cent. That is the current situation but this will soon change!
Just like other social media applications, at first, they were completely free, even for businesses but as popularity grew they had to monetise their business and start earning money from it. This means that business accounts will have to pay for certain features, how much, which features, and the effectiveness can only be speculated but something will certainly be introduced.
Should you create a TikTok account for your business?
The short answer is, most definitely! You can reach and build your brand for free until they monetise it which can save you a lot of money. The long answer would be, it depends. TikTok is a very specific social media and your target audience might not be currently present and, therefore, any postings will have limited reach, and not worth the effort. If you’re a B2B business, TikTok is certainly not your place but if you’re a B2C business with a target audience of ages 16 to 30, it most certainly is!
